HRV (Heart Rate Variability)
Definition
HRV is the variation in time between consecutive heartbeats. A higher HRV generally indicates better recovery, parasympathetic nervous system dominance, and readiness to train. Lower than normal HRV suggests fatigue or stress.
Why it matters
HRV is one of the most sensitive early warning indicators of overtraining, illness, and accumulated fatigue. Monitoring HRV trends helps athletes decide when to push and when to rest.
How FlipMP uses it
FlipMP syncs HRV data from Garmin, Polar, and Apple Watch. It tracks 7-day rolling average and flags deviations. The AI coach integrates HRV data into recovery recommendations.
