Interval Training

Definition

Interval training alternates periods of high-intensity effort with recovery periods. Common formats: 4×4 minutes at VO2 Max pace with 3-min recovery, or 8×400m repeats.

Why it matters

Intervals develop VO2 Max, running economy, and speed in ways that continuous training cannot. They compress high-intensity stimulus into manageable segments.

How FlipMP uses it

FlipMP identifies interval sessions from pace and HR patterns. It tracks repeat pace consistency and progressive improvement across similar interval workouts.
