Negative Split
Definition
A negative split means completing the second half of a race or workout faster than the first half. Generally considered the optimal pacing strategy for most endurance events.
Why it matters
Most age-group athletes go out too fast and fade. A negative split indicates excellent pacing discipline and typically correlates with better finishing times and less suffering.
How FlipMP uses it
FlipMP analyzes your race and workout pacing to identify split patterns. It celebrates your negative splits and gently flags positive splits (going too hard early) to guide future pacing.
